Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 2026
At uvindex.earth (operated by Logos Labs LLC), your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our website.
1. Information We Collect & How We Use It
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personally identifiable information (like your name or email address). We only collect data necessary to provide you with local UV index forecasts:
- Location Data (GPS): If you grant explicit browser permission, we use your device's exact coordinates to fetch highly accurate weather data. This data is processed in real-time and is never saved on our servers.
- Location Data (IP Address): To provide a seamless experience, we may silently approximate your city based on your IP address when you first visit the site.
- Local Storage: We save your recent city searches to your device's local storage (browser cache) so you can quickly access them later. This data lives purely on your device, not in our databases.
2. Third-Party Services
To power our tracking and data, we utilize a few secure third-party services. These services may receive your IP address or coordinates to fulfill your requests:
- Open-Meteo: We use the Open-Meteo API to fetch UV index and weather forecasts.
- GeoJS & FreeIPAPI: We use these services to approximate your general location if GPS is unavailable.
- Google Analytics (GA4): We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit our site and how they use it. This collects anonymized data regarding your browser, device type, and general geographic region.
3. Data Retention
Because we do not have user accounts or proprietary databases, we do not store your location history, search history, or personal data on our servers.
